Polonky ( Ukrainian Полонки ; Russian Полонки Polonki ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast Chernihiv with about 300 inhabitants (2001).

The name of the village, which was founded in 1600, is probably derived from the word Opolonki (in German: ice holes ), as there was probably a lot of fish in the river in the past that was caught in the winter using ice holes. Over time, the first letter disappeared, leaving Polonki . The Archangel Michael Church, built between 1777 and 1779 (according to other sources, 1720) is a unique historical and architectural monument in the style of the Ukrainian Baroque in the village .

The village lies at the mouth of the 12 km long Juschtschenkowa ( Ющенкова ) in the údaj , a 327 km long right tributary of Sula , opposite the Rajon Varva village Schurawka , 17 of Rajonzentrums km southeast Pryluky and 160 km south-east of Oblastzentrums Chernihiv .

Administratively, Polonky belongs to the district council of the village of Udajzi ( Удайці ) in the southeast of the Pryluky district .
