The Polsenz is a left tributary of the Innbach in the Hausruckviertel  in Upper Austria .

course

The Polsenz rises in the Pollhamer Wald south of the village of Forsthof and then flows in an easterly direction through the municipal areas of Pollham and St. Marienkirchen an der Polsenz . After almost 11 kilometers, it flows into the Innbach at Finklham .

ecology

The Polsenz flows over long stretches through intensively agricultural areas. Its course has been straightened and built in in many sections and without trees accompanying the bank, the river continuum is interrupted by 45 transverse structures. In the area around Thal there are still some natural alluvial forests , which are dominated by the black alder . In 2014, the overall ecological condition at the Unterfreundorf measuring point was classified as “unsatisfactory”.
