Leśny Rów ( German Ivenhof ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship within the Gmina Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Leśny Rów is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 15 kilometers northeast of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German Rastenburg ).

history

Ivenhof , consisting of a large courtyard and previously called Dismantling Bartel , was officially founded on April 10, 1922. Until March 31, 1938, it was a place to live in the municipality of Drengfurth, Vorstadt, belonging to the East Prussian district of Rastenburg , which was incorporated into the municipality of Drengfurth ( Srokowo in Polish ) on April 1 of the same year .

1945 Ivenhof came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Leśny Rów". Today the village is the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) in the network of the rural community Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Until 1945 Ivenhof was parish in the Evangelical Parish Church of Drengfurth in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of St. Katharina Rastenburg with the Drengfurth branch chapel in the then Diocese of Warmia .

Today Leśny Rów belongs to the Catholic parish Srokowo in the current Archdiocese of Warmia , as well as to the Evangelical Church Srokowo , a branch church of the Johanneskirche Kętrzyn in the Diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Leśny Rów is located west of Voivodship Road 650 and can be reached from Srokowo (Drengfurth) and Lesieniec (Waldenthal) . There is no connection to rail traffic . Until 1945 Drengfurth was the next train station as the end point of the railway line coming from Rastenburg , which was operated by the Rastenburger Kleinbahnen , but was not reactivated after 1945.
