Bajorki ( German  Bajohrental , 1938 to 1945 Blankental ) is an uninhabited local authority in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the area of Gmina Srokowo (rural municipality Drengfurth ) in the powiat Kętrzyński (district Rastenburg ).

Geographical location

Bajorki is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 18 kilometers southeast of the former district town of Gerdauen (today Russian Schelesnodoroschny ) and 24 kilometers northeast of today's district metropolis Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

Bajohrental consisted only of a large courtyard and until 1945 was a residential area in the municipality of Klein Bajohren (1938 to 1945 Kleinblankenfelde , in Polish Bajory Małe ) in the East Prussian district of Gerdauen . In 1885 Bajohrental had 32 inhabitants, in 1905 there were still 26. On June 3rd - officially effective on July 16th - 1938 Bajohrental was renamed "Blankental" for political and ideological reasons to defend against foreign sounding place names.

As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name "Bajorki". Today it is an "Opuszczona osada" (= "abandoned settlement"), which belongs to the area of the rural community Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ) - until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship - is integrated.

church

Bajohrental resp. Blankental was parish up to 1945 in the Protestant parish of Nordenburg (today in Russian Krylowo ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of Angerburg (Polish : Węgorzewo ) in the then diocese of Warmia .
