Wysoka Góra ( German  Hochberg ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Wysoka Góra is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 21 kilometers northeast of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

On August 28, 1821, the large farm known as Borchert mining was officially named "Hochberg". Until 1945 he was a living space within the city Drengfurth ( Polish Srokowo ) in the East Prussian county Rastenburg . In 1885 it had eleven inhabitants, in 1905 it had 43.

When all of southern East Prussia was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war , Hochberg was also affected. The village received the Polish name form "Wysoka Góra" and is today the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) within the rural community Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship . In 2011 Wysoka Góra had 36 inhabitants.

Until 1945, Hochberg was incorporated into the Protestant parish church of Drengfurth in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and into the Catholic St. Catherine's Church in Rastenburg in what was then the Diocese of Warmia . Today Wysoka Góra belongs to the Catholic parish Srokowo in the current Archdiocese of Warmia , as well as to the Evangelical Church Srokowo , a branch church of the parish Kętrzyn in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Wysoka Góra is from the provincial road 650 of Srokowo from an after Sowka (German Eulenhof reached leading) Street. In addition, a street from Suchodoły (Friedenthal) leads directly into town. There is no train connection.
