Stare Jegławki ( German Alt Jäglack ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).
Geographical location
Stare Jegławki is located on Jezioro Jegławki in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 19 kilometers north of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German Rastenburg ).
history
The place called Jeglack before 1785 originally consisted of a large estate. Until 1928, Alt Jäglack was a residential area in the Jäglack manor district ( Jegławki in Polish ) in the East Prussian district of Rastenburg . In 1820 165, in 1885 162 and 1905 only 107 inhabitants were registered in Alt Jäglack.
On September 30, 1928, the Jäglack manor district - with the Alt Jäglack residential area - merged with the Jäglack rural community to form the new Jäglack rural community.
When the whole of southern East Prussia was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war , Alt Jäglack was also affected and received the Polish form of name “Stare Jegławki”. Today it is an "integralne część wsi Jegławki" ("integrated part of the village Jegławki") and no longer has any independent meaning. Within Jegławki, Stare Jegławki belongs to the rural community Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
church
Until 1945, Alt Jäglack was parish in the Protestant parish church of Drengfurth in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of St. Katharina Rastenburg with the Drengfurth chapel in what was then the Diocese of Warmia .
Today, Stare Jegławki belongs to the Catholic parish Srokowo in the current Archdiocese of Warmia , as well as to the Evangelical Church Srokowo , a branch church of the Johanneskirche Kętrzyn in the Diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
traffic
Stare Jegławki is located in the north of the village Jegławki , from where two roads lead north and east: via Skandławki (Skandlack) to Brzeźnica (Birkenfeld) and past Jegławki (Osada) to Wilczyny (Wolfshagen) .
Until 1945, Alt Jäglack was a train station on the Barten – Nordenburg railway operated by the Rastenburger Kleinbahnen . There is no longer any rail traffic here.
