Rybakowo ( German Schönthal A and Schönthal B ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the Gmina Srokowo (rural municipality Drengfurth ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).
Geographical location
Rybakowo is located on the north bank of the Schülzer See ( Polish Jezioro Silec ) in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 16 kilometers northeast of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German Rastenburg ).
history
The former Schöntal was founded on 28 August 1821 and later in the villages Schönthal A and Schönthal B separately. Schönthal A consisted of a medium-sized farm and had seven inhabitants in 1885 and eleven in 1905. Schönthal B consisted of only a small farm with ten inhabitants in 1885 and nine in 1905. Both places belonged to the municipality of Drengfurth ( Srokowo in Polish ) in the East Prussian district of Rastenburg until 1945 .
When in 1945, as a result of the war, Schönthal A and Schönthal B and all of southern East Prussia were transferred to Poland , the separation was lifted and both were united under the Polish name “Rybakowo”. Today's small place is "część wsi Leśny Rów" ( German "part of the village Leśny Rów" ) (Ivenhof) within the rural community Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia Voivodeship -Masures associated.

Both Schönthal A and Schönthal B were parish up to 1945 in the Evangelical Parish Church of Drengfurth in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic St. Katharinen Church in Rastenburg with the branch chapel Drengfurth in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Rybakowo belongs to the Catholic parish Srokowo in the Archdiocese of Warmia , as well as to the Evangelical Church Srokowo , a branch church of the Johanneskirche Kętrzyn in the Diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
traffic
Rybakowo is located east of Voivodship Road 650 and can be reached from there on the side road from Lesieniec (Waldenthal) to Młynowo ( (noble) Mühlbach ). There is no connection to rail traffic . Until 1945 was Drengfurth (Polish Srokowo ) the next station as the terminus of the railway line from Rastenburg , by the Rastenburger Kleinbahnen was busy.
