Polydorus (son of Cadmos)
Polydoros ( Greek Πολύδωρος ), the son of Kadmos and Harmonia , was king of Thebes .
When Kadmos left Thebes and went to Illyria, it was not his son Polydorus but his grandson Pentheus who ascended the throne. After he died, Polydorus became king of Thebes. Polydoros married Nykteis, the daughter of Nykteus , with her he had a son Labdakos . When Polydoros died, Labdakos was still a minor, so Nykteus took over the business of government.
Polydorus had a sister Semele . This was by Zeus struck by lightning. At the same time a board fell from the sky. From this board Polydoros made a gilded picture for Dionysus , the son of Semele, and named it Dionysus Kadmeios .
