The Pont d'Arbois is a road bridge in Arbois in the Jura department in the French region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté . It leads the route nationale N 83 over the river Cuisance , the route départementale D 469 and a small local road.

The 100.10 m long bridge has two lanes and sidewalks on both sides. It has three openings with 40.4 m as the largest span . The composite structure consists of two prestressed concrete belts with external tendons and a steel framework in the form of a W.

It was designed by Michel Placidi , who was assisted in design matters by the architect Alain Spielmann, and carried out in 1985 by Dragages et Travaux Publics, whose Ouvrages d'art department he headed.

At that time, the French bridge engineers were looking for ways to reduce the weight of the beam girder and thus achieve lower construction costs. The Pont d'Arbois was one of the first smaller bridges where these ideas were first implemented. Similar solutions were implemented with the Viaduc de Maupré and the Viaduc de Sylans .
