Pool is a department of the Republic of the Congo with the capital Kinkala . It is named after the Malebo Pool (formerly Stanley Pool), a lake to which the Congo River dams near Kinshasa .

geography

The department is located in the south-east of the country and extends north and west of the capital Brazzaville . It is bordered to the north by the department of Plateaux , to the northwest by the department of Lékoumou , to the southwest by the department of Bouenza and to the south and east by the Republic of the Congo and the capital district of Brazzaville.
