Popgasm is the second studio album by the Finnish pop rock band Sunrise Avenue . It was released on May 6, 2009 and is the successor to On the Way to Wonderland . The singles The Whole Story , Not Again and Welcome to My Life were released one after the other .

None of the songs could repeat the success of the hit single Fairytale Gone Bad from the previous album On the Way to Wonderland . The Whole Story only landed at the top in the airplay charts . Overall, the album is a bit quieter than its predecessor, On the Way to Wonderland, and can be found in the pop-rock category.

Publications

The Whole Story was released as a lead single on March 2nd, 2009, in Germany the song was officially released on March 30th, 2009. Not Again was released as a second single at the beginning of September 2009, but could only place itself in the airplay charts. The third single was released on November 20, 2009, Welcome to My Life .

Reviews

laut.de was enthusiastic about Samu Haber's vocal performance. Not a track in which he doesn't stretch the spectrum from the masculine baritone to the dramatic falsetto- spiked emo vocals. Theband also earns praisefor straight rock songs like "The Whole Story" and mid-tempo rockers with irresistible hooks like "Not Again" . On the other hand, the verdict on the following titles is devastating: "Welcome To My Life" and "Bad" bring out run-of-the-mill blues with plenty of string paste and unnecessary bogey. And "Kiss N 'Run" comes around the corner with its paper mache drums and synthesizer atrocities, pompous without end and almost spoils the fun. cdstarts.de was anything but enthusiastic: only the final track is a nice pop ballad that is a little touching, but otherwise there is unfortunately too much below average to hear. There the album is referred to as the teen pop brand Sunrise Avenue, which is difficult to digest in the stomach .
