Out of Style is the third studio album by the Finnish rock band Sunrise Avenue . It was released on March 25, 2011. On November 18, 2011, the double CD Out of Style - Special Edition followed , which in addition to the album on the second CD also contains new versions of the songs that are particularly dear to the band.

Production and songs

The album was recorded in Helsinki , Stockholm , Paris , Tokyo and Los Angeles .

Ballads with piano solos ( Somebody Help Me ) alternate with faster tracks ( Hollywood Hills ). The first single was released on January 21, 2011 Hollywood Hills . The song reached similarly high chart placements in German-speaking countries as their most successful hit Fairytale Gone Bad from 2006. On August 12, 2011, the second single I Don't Dance was released.

Reviews

Laut.de certifies that Sunrise Avenue is a solid album. Hollywood Hills is an excellent example for a large part of the record. The hymn about lost dreams in the end station Sehnsucht, which is equally at home in pop and rock, offers speed and powerful electric guitars. The musical direction adheres to the proven guidelines. All in all, Out of Style is an ear-friendly long player that leaves fans of hard sounds ambivalent.

shitesite.de gives the album a significantly worse rating: Hollywood Hills is a hit with an electric guitar . Overall, Sunrise Avenue is not a bit cool , the music is Finnish and unspeakably provincial. The site compares the band with deadly rock sins like The Rasmus and HIM : Samu Haber, lead singer and chief songwriter at Sunrise Avenue, also tends to pseudo-gloom, great theatricality and tearful lyrics that are too banal even for the average Bravo reader should be.
