The Poseidon Pass is a 375 m high mountain pass on the Wilkins coast of the Palmerland in the southern part of the Antarctic Peninsula . It leads between Cape Keeler and Cape Mayo from Revelle Inlet over the Hollick Kenyon Peninsula to the head end of Bowman Inlet .
Aerial photos of the pass were taken in 1947 during the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948). In November 1947, the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) carried out a survey. The FIDS geological team based on Stonington Island chose the pass for a sled excursion in 1960. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after Poseidon , the god of the sea from Greek mythology.
