The Bowman Inlet ( English for Bowman inlet ) is an icy side bay of Mobiloil Inlet on the Bowman Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is bordered to the south by the Hollick Kenyon Peninsula . Your entrance is between Kay-Nunatak and Platt Point .
The American polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth photographed it during an overflight on November 23, 1935. These aerial photographs were used by the American cartographer WLG Joerg to map their west coast. New aerial photographs were taken in 1940 during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) and in 1947 during the US Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a survey in 1958. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the bay after Lieutenant Bradley J. Bowman of the United States Navy Reserve Forces, officer on duty in the unit responsible for establishing the Palmer Station during Operation Deep Freeze from 1968 to 1969.
