Potsdam Palace Marathon
The Potsdam Palace Marathon was a marathon in Potsdam that took place annually from 2004 to 2010. In 2011 the marathon was canceled due to stagnating registrations. In addition to the half marathon, which is still offered, there has been a 10 km run since 2011. With this change, the name of the event was changed to Potsdamer Schlösserlauf . The organizer is the Stadtsportbund Potsdam e. V.
The route is a circular route that goes to various sites of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Berlin-Potsdam. The start has been at the airship port since 2007 . From there it goes over the Zeppelinstraße directly to Luisenplatz and the Brandenburg Gate . You walk through the city center on Brandenburger Strasse. Then you cross the Havel on the Humboldt Bridge and arrive at the Babelsberg Park . Via the Teltow Canal you reach Klein Glienicke , and after a short passage in the urban area of Berlin you go over the Glienicker Bridge back to the right bank of the Havel. Parallel to the bank of the Jungfernsee one arrives in the New Garden , where at km 11 the Cecilienhof Palace is reached. At the dairy you leave the New Garden. Beyond the Alexandrowka you reach the Sanssouci Park . At the historic mill , the castle is briefly touched before it goes over the Maulbeerallee past the Orangery Castle to the New Palace and from there south to the starting point of the route.
