Patricia Wettig (born December 4, 1951 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) is an American actress .

life and career

Wettig grew up in Grove City , Pennsylvania , and studied acting at Temple University in Philadelphia and Ohio Wesleyan. For a while she was the personal dresser for actress Shirley MacLaine to make a living.

In 1980 she joined New York's Circle Repertory Company and appeared in numerous plays. In 1982 she met actor, director and producer Ken Olin while working on the play A Streetcar Named Desire , whom she married shortly afterwards; they have two children.

From 1984 Wettig appeared in film and television. She took on guest roles in Remington Steele , chief physician Dr. Westphall and Practice - The Lawyers . Her role in The Prime Years series earned her a Golden Globe and three Emmys . For the cinema she made films like City Slickers and City Slickers 2 .

From 2002 to 2004 she was part of the cast of the series Alias ​​- The Agent , which was produced by her husband.
