The Potter Peninsula ( Spanish Península Potter ) is a low and unrefined peninsula in the southwest of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Island . It extends from Mirounga Point on Potter Cove to Stranger Point on Bransfield Street .
Chilean geologists named it in 1966 based on the naming of the neighboring Potter Cove, whose namesake is unclear. The Potter Peninsula is a specially protected area in Antarctica ( Antarctic Specially Protected Area No. 132 ).
