Pourtalesia is the eponymous genus of Pourtalesia (family Pourtalesiidae ) which belongs to the irregular sea urchins . The animals are bilaterally symmetrical and grow 5–6 cm long. They live in the abyssal (deep sea) of the Atlantic , Pacific , Indo-Pacific, and Arctic Oceans . The mouth opening is far in front, the lantern of Aristotle is missing as in all holasteroida .
