Povel (German Powel ) is a district in the south of Olomouc ( Olomouc ) in the Czech Republic with about 9,000 inhabitants .
history
The formerly large German minority there was expelled after the Second World War. In 2001 the district had 8917 inhabitants.
Local division
Povel consists of the basic settlement units Heyrovského, Jihoslovanská, Povel-jih, Schweitzerova and U rybníka.
The district forms a cadastral district.
