The Pozchowiszqali ( Georgian ფოცხოვისწყალი ; Turkish Posof Çayı ) is a left tributary of the Kura in Georgia and Turkey .
The Pozchowiszqali rises on the eastern slope of the Arsiani Mountains in the Turkish province of Ardahan . It initially flows in an easterly direction. It flows south past the district town of Posof and reaches the border with Georgia. There he picks up the Jakiszqali from the right. It turns north and flows through the Georgian administrative region of Samtskhe-Javakheti . The place Wale is east of the river. The Kwabliani flows into the river on the left. The Pozchowiszqali then turns to the east. It flows through the small town of Akhaltsikhe and shortly thereafter flows into the Kura, which flows northwards. The Pozchowiszqali has a length of 64 km. Its catchment area covers 1840 km². The mean discharge is 22.4 m³ / s.
