history

Präbschütz was first mentioned in 1323 as Prawschitz . Later spellings were Prawschicz (1334), Prauschwicz (1445) and Praebschitz (1543). The place name probably goes back to a personal name beginning with Prav .

It is a square village with a striped corridor similar to a win . Presumably, Präbschütz is much older, as it was in Daleminzergau during the Slav period and belonged to the Kleinmockritz suport. Up until the middle of the 19th century, Präbschütz belonged to the Meißen office; it was not until 1875 that the Döbeln office came into being. In the 15th and 16th centuries, Präbschütz had six estates, two half-hoppers, eight gardeners' food, 15 houses, a watermill called "Gabschmühle", a windmill and a forge. The place had to pay taxes to Alt-Zella at the time of the monastery. In the wars of freedom of 1813, brigade troops of General York marched through Präbschütz early on May 6th .

Well-known field names in the village area are, for example, the Burkhardsgraben and the Präbschützer Linde. In 1911, Präbschütz was connected to the power supply. In 1910 a water pipe was built in Präbschütz and a water cooperative was founded and entered in the land register. It included six farms and the bakery. Two spring wells and a collector are in the direction of Juchhöh. The water ran on its own without a pumping device to the center of the village in a basin with a capacity of 24 m³, from where it was distributed to the companies. This distribution was operated until 1978, when the central water supply came into force.

The population of the place was 214 inhabitants in 1834, in 1946 there were 285, in 2000 still 82. In June 2009 the population was 96 people. In June 2002 a memorial stone was inaugurated at the point of origin of the small Jahna river in Präbschütz.

Since July 1, 1950, Präbschütz has belonged to the municipality of Mochau, which was itself incorporated into Döbeln on January 1, 2016.
