Pramote Teerawiwatana

Pramote Teerawiwatana ( Thai : ปราโมทย์ ธี ระ วิวัฒน์ ; born June 14, 1967 in Kanchanaburi , † October 4, 2012 in Bangkok ) was a Thai badminton player .

Athletic career

In 1992 Pramote Teerawiwatana started for the first time at the Olympics in men's doubles. There he won his first round match with Siripong Siripool , but lost the second game and finished ninth. Also in 1996 he was ninth, but this time with Sakrapee Thongsari by his side. In 2000 and 2004 he started with Tesana Panvisavas and finished ninth again at both events.

In 1993 he won the Asian Games with Tesana Panvisavas , and in 2001 they both reached the quarter-finals of the Badminton World Cup . In 2002 they won the China Open . In 1998 and 2002 there was silver at the Asian Games. He won nationally for the first time at the Thai championships in 1989 in men's doubles, ten more titles followed by 2002.

Pramote Teerawiwatana died of lung cancer on October 4, 2012 at the age of 45 in Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok .
