The Prussian laser herb ( Laserpitium prutenicum ) is a plant belonging to the genus laserpitium ( Laserpitium ) within the family of the Umbelliferae (Apiaceae).

Vegetative characteristics

The Prussian laser herb is a deciduous, perennial herbaceous plant . It has a characteristic angular furrowed stem that is stiffly hairy. The two- to three-pinnate leaves have lanceolate tips that are ciliate on the edge.

Generative characteristics

The flowering period is between July and August. The double-gold inflorescence is 10 to 20-rayed. The lanceolate husk leaves have broad skin margins and shaggy ciliates. The petals are yellowish-white.

The chromosome number is 2n = 22, also for the subspecies Laserpitium prutenicum subsp. dufourianum .

Occurrence and endangerment

The Prussian laser herb occurs in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia , Ukraine, Belarus and in European Russia.

In 1996, Laserpitium prutenicum was classified as critically endangered on the Red List of Endangered Plant Species for the whole of Germany. In some western federal states the species has already been lost.

Laserpitium prutenicum inhabits meadows and bushes with alternating moisture and is z. Sometimes also found in light oak forests. He may as Kennart the Association Molinion caeruleae be considered, but also has deposits in the Association Potentillo petraeae albae Quercetum .
