Prezident (* 1984 in Wuppertal ; actually Viktor Bertermann ) is a German rapper . It can be assigned to the genre Conscious Rap .

Life

Bertermann grew up in Wuppertal and began to be interested in hip-hop at the age of 13 . At that time influenced by groups like Freundeskreis , Beginners and Eins Zwo , rappers like Samy Deluxe or American role models like Eminem , Nas or Cypress Hill , he began to emulate his idols. To do this, Bertermann used the pseudonym EMP, under which he recorded a number of demos . In the absence of a beat producer nearby, he acquired the necessary knowledge himself. He was later supported by Fella Oner . His first attempts at walking can be found in the battlerap . The last demo appeared in 2004 as EMP Cripz , after which he made a U- turn.

Inspired by literary role models such as Franz Kafka , Ernest Hemingway and especially Charles Bukowski , he changed his pseudonym to Prezident and began to work on subtle topics. At the same time he studied German and history . From then on, he referred to his music as "whiskey rap". Consequently, he called in his first track for a Hiphop.de- sampler as Hip Hop Hemingway . 2006 appeared his mixtape - EP music to jump out the window , clearly influenced by Bukowskis of poems poems that one wrote before he jumped out the window on the 8th floor . Then his mixtape Vom Mann In Reno appeared , again alluding to Bukowski and whose I shot a man in Reno and other careless information about himself . In 2007 the mixtape Damned Close to the Unspeakable followed .

The Small Catechism followed in 2008 and caused a sensation with its minimalist, industrial- style beats. In 2010 his debut album, Latest Findings from the Descending Branch, was released . It followed in 2013. Art is a possessive lover through his own label Whiskeyrap. This was followed by a collaboration with his protégés of Kamikazes called Leiden or Boredom . Still more underground , the album Limbus followed in 2016 - the extended Limbus , which surprisingly reached number 13 in the German album charts .
