Prince Chinenye Ibeh (born June 3, 1994 in London , United Kingdom ) is an American basketball player .

career

The London- born American with Nigerian roots moved to Texas at the age of five . He only started playing basketball at the age of 14; before that, he played American football and did athletics . In Texas he played at the Naaman Forest High School in Garland and from 2012 to 2016 at the University of Texas for the Texas Longhorns in Austin . In his senior year in college, he played an average of 18 minutes and blocked two throws per game. He was also named the best defender in the Big 12 Conference.

In June 2016, he signed up for the draft but was not selected. In July 2016, he played four games for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas .

On April 3, 2017, Ibeh signed a contract with the Brooklyn Nets , but was released early from his contract after just one day. In July 2017, he played three games for the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA Summer League.

In the 2017/18 season he played for the Long Island Nets in the G-League . In 32 games (15 times in the starting five ) he averaged 11.5 minutes and 3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.

In October 2018, the Yokohama B-Corsairs from Japan signed Ibeh. In January 2019 he was injured in a game and was released from his contract early at the end of February. He moved to NorthPort Batang Pier from Manila ( Philippines ) in the PBA . In April 2019, he changed his throwing hand and from then on threw with his left hand, as he cannot completely bend the right hand due to a faulty bone arrangement.

In July 2019, Ibeh signed a contract for the 2019/20 season with the German first division club Hamburg Towers . On September 30, 2019, he scored the first Bundesliga points in the Hamburg club's history in a game against FC Bayern Munich .
