View of the brewery

The Privat-Brauerei Zötler GmbH is a brewery in Rettenberg in the Oberallgäu district . Around 45,000 hl of beer are produced annually.

history

The history of the Zötler brewery is said to go back to a brewery founded in 1447 at the foot of the Grünten by an unspecified host. This prompted the theologian Manfred Gohl to claim that the Zötler brewery was the oldest family brewery in Germany. Gohl's statements were presented to the media in the news magazine Der Spiegel in 2004. With a purchase agreement dated August 10, 2009, the brewery took over the trademark rights and the customers of the “Postbrauerei Karl Meyer Nesselwang ” on December 1, 2009.

The private brewery Zötler brews different types of beer, including 1447 naturally cloudy , Zötler Gold and Zötler Gold alcohol-free, Bayerisch Hell , Pils , Hefeweizen Hell, Hefeweizen non-alcoholic, Hefeweizen light and dark, St. Stephans bock , Korbinian dark , festival beer, Maibock , full moon - Beer and, since 2010, the festival beer for the Allgäu festival week. Zötler also produces three Postbrauerei Allgäu brand beers and Alpina-C soft drinks. In addition, the brewery has been producing two lemonades under the brand name Zötler Berglimo since 2013, which consist exclusively of Allgäu raw materials, contain no added sugar or preservatives and are refined with a hay extract.

Zötler belongs to the initiative Die Freie Brauer , founded in 2006 , an association of independent private breweries in Europe.

For the Allgäu gastronomy and hotel industry, the brewery offers various seminars every year as part of the Zötler Gastro Academy.

Awards

In 2012, the brewery was awarded the " Golden Beer Idea " from the Bavarian Brewers ' Association and the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association for its great commitment to training and further education of managers and employees .

As early as 2004, this award was given for the overall concept “Brewery Village” Rettenberg , in which the brewery participated together with Rettenberger Engelbräu.
