Prix Ampère
The Prix Ampère , more precisely Prix Ampère de l'Électricité de France , is a € 50,000 prize (as of 2014), with which the French Academy of Sciences honors outstanding research in mathematics and physics . The award was founded in 1974 on the occasion of the approaching 200th birthday of André-Marie Ampère .
