content

The archaeologist and master detective Professor Hershel Layton and his assistant Luke go to a castle in which a ghost is up to mischief. Despite warnings from their friends Agnes and Kalle, they enter the property and are attacked by knight armor while exploring. In the story, Layton and Luke solve 25 puzzles that end with a self-destruct mechanism that Layton actuates and thus destroys Don Paolo's hiding place. In addition, Professor Layton has to deal with a pig that wants to take his place.

Volume 1 also contains a comedy episode in which the professor's friends have to try to find out what is hidden under Layton's hat.

Conception

The Professor Layton and His Funny Cases series is designed as a hands-on manga. The reader is actively involved in the events of the story and solves the puzzles posed to him. This shows parallels to the game template Professor Layton . The correct solutions to the puzzles and tasks are printed on the last pages of the paperback.

Simple puzzles, such as the famous task of separating the pigs in the meadow, primarily appeal to the target group of children and young adolescents.
