The Golden Pudel Club is a trendy club in Hamburg that was run by Tobias Albrecht ( Rocko Schamoni ) and Thomas Sehl ( Schorsch Cameroon ), among others .

The small and simple club in the Altona-Altstadt district , near the fish market , has been using the rooms of the historic Elbterrassen café in a former smuggler's prison built in 1872 below Antonipark since 1995 . Residents of the area around the Pinnasberg in Altona-Altstadt and from the neighboring St. Pauli demanded a public park for their densely built-up area for the first time in 1994 instead of the intended residential and office development. They also wanted to keep the Poodle Club founded by Rocko Schamoni, which was threatened with demolition. The neighborhood initiative, which also included social institutions, the only school in the neighborhood and individual artists, made the first sketches for the park and advertised their project in the media. The Park Fiction project emerged from this complex collaboration . The Golden Poodle Club is the newly opened club of the Poodle Club founded in 1988 .

From the beginning, numerous, also international underground sizes appeared there. For a long time it was considered the meeting point of the Hamburg school .

Since 1990 several albums and compilations with titles by artists who had performed in the Golden Pudel Club have been released.

In 2001, after a series of vinyl singles, a compilation called Operation Pudel 2001 was released . Among others, Adolf Noise , Justus Köhncke , Mense Reents , Turner and Stereo Total will be there .

The Pudel products series has been appearing since 2005 . Initially started as a vinyl series, they are singles on a compilation (music) called Operation Pudel 2006 ZD 50 . Among others, Heinz Strunk , Viktor Marek , Robag Wruhme , Helge Schneider and Jacques Palminger are represented in this collection .

The club after the fire, February 2016

On the night of February 14, 2016, the building was largely destroyed by fire and no one was injured. The police are investigating serious arson. An auction of the building with a market value of 510,000 euros was scheduled for April 20, 2016. On July 18, 2016, it became known that the non-profit Mara & Holger Cassens Foundation had acquired the share from co-owner Wolf Richter, the auction was thus averted and the property was being handed over for charitable use. Reconstruction work began in September 2016. The cost of the reconstruction was estimated at 850,000 euros, of which the city of Hamburg took over 200,000 euros and the Altona district 100,000 euros. In August 2017 the ground floor was restored and the club was able to reopen. The reconstruction of the upper floor began in September 2018. In December 2018, Rocko Schamoni transferred his share to the Golden Pudel Foundation, administered by the Patriotic Society of 1765 . The upper floor was reopened in July 2019.
