Puerto Quijarro is a small town in the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Puerto Quijarro is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Puerto Quijarro in the province of Germán Busch . The city is located at an altitude of 144  m on the southeastern edge of the Laguna Cáceres , directly on the Brazilian border opposite the city of Corumbá .

To the north of the city is Puerto Aguirre , the only major Bolivian port with access to international markets, through which a significant part of Bolivian exports and imports pass.
