The municipality of Puerto Quijarro is a district in the Santa Cruz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Puerto Quijarro is one of three municipalities in the province of Germán Busch and includes the eastern areas of the province. It borders the province of Ángel Sandoval to the north, the municipality of Puerto Suárez to the west and southwest and the Republic of Brazil to the east .

The municipality extends between about 18 ° 00 'and 19 ° 07' south latitude and 57 ° 26 'and 57 ° 52' west longitude, its expansion from west to east is up to 30 kilometers and from north to south up to 130 kilometers .

The municipality comprises five municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the city of Puerto Quijarro with 11,071 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southeastern part of the district, the second largest village is Arroyo Concepción with 5,302 inhabitants, the southeastern neighbor of Puerto Quijarro.
