Qalmuchanbet Nurmuchanbetuly Qassymow ( Kazakh Қалмұханбет Нұрмұханбетұлы Қасымов , Russian Калмуханбет Нурмуханбетович Касымов / Kalmuchanbet Nurmuchanbetowitsch Kassymow * 18th May 1957 in Dmitrijewka, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician.

Life

Qalmuchanbet Qassymov was born in 1957 in the village of Dmitrievka in the south of the Kazakh SSR . He graduated in 1979 the State Kazakh Kirov University in Alma-Ata with a degree in jurisprudence from.

He began his professional career with the police authorities of the Ili district in various positions, including as chief investigator, head of the investigative department and deputy chief of the district police. Between 1988 and 1989 he was deputy head of the Internal Affairs Department of Almaty Oblast and then until 1992 head of the Internal Affairs Police Department of Kapschagai City . Until 1997 he was head of the criminal investigation department and first deputy head of the internal affairs department of Almaty Oblast. From March to July 1997, Qassymow worked for the Ministry of Interior of Kazakhstan . From July 1997 to December 2003 he was head of the internal affairs department of the city of Almaty before he became head of the police department of the Almaty region until June 2005. He then became the country's deputy interior minister, and from September 2009 he was the head of the Internal Affairs Department of East Kazakhstan . He has been the Kazakh Interior Minister since April 12, 2011.
