Qiu Hongxia (born February 10, 1982 ) is a Chinese weightlifter . In 2006 she was world champion in the duel in the weight class up to 53 kg body weight.

Career

Qiu Hongxia started lifting weights in 1991 in Yongfu Elementary School. A few years later, she moved to the Zhongshan Sports School , where she was trained by Wei Xianyu. In 1998 she moved to Guangdong University as a sports student . She also settled in Guangdong after completing her studies.

For the first time she drew sustained attention in 1999 when she won the Chinese City Games in the weight class up to 53 kg with 202 kg (87.5-115) in a duel. Her first appearance at an international championship she completed at the Asian Championship in 2001, where she won the same weight class with 205 kg (87.5–117.5). In the same year it was used at the World Championships in Antalya . There she managed 207.5 kg (92.5-115) in a duel and had to admit defeat to the Taiwanese Li Feng-Ying , who came to 210 kg, and took second place.

In 2002, Qiu Hongxia was so badly injured that she was unable to exercise for a long time and then took a long time to regain her former performance. This was only the case in 2006. It started again this year at the world championship in Santo Domingo , Dom. Rep., Took place and was there in excellent shape. She made new world records in the duel with 226 kg and also in the two individual disciplines, tearing with 98 kg and pushing with 128 kg. There she became the superior world champion in the duel before Raema Lisa Rumbewas from Indonesia , who came to 210 kg and Chaleephay Suda from Thailand , who reached 207 kg. She also won in snatching and pushing.

In 2007 it was only used at the IMF World Cup in Apia / Samoa . She reached there in the class up to 53 kg 220 kg (98-122), with which she clearly won over Dika Toua from Papua New Guinea, 190 kg. She also won an internal Olympic test in Hefei that year with 226 kg (101-125).

In 2008, Qiu Hongxia became the Chinese master of the class up to 53 kg in Hefei . There she reached 225 kg (100–125) and won ahead of Li Xiong, 223 kg (99–1249) a. Wang Zuhong, 222 kg (99-123). However, their hope of being used at the Olympic Games in Beijing did not come true. The reason was that the International Olympic Committee had severely restricted the number of participants in women's weightlifting, and China , the world's leading country in women's weightlifting, only allowed four entries. The Chinese association was therefore forced to forego the use of the two top-favored weightlifters in the 53 kg class, Qiu Hongxia and Li Ping .

Qiu Hongxia continued her career and was in the Chinese championship 2009 with 217 kg (91-120) third behind Li Ping, 228 kg (97-131) and Chen Xiaoping , 218 kg (98-120) and came in the Chinese National Games 2009 in Jinan with 226 kg (98–129) behind Li Ping , 235 kg (103–132) and in front of Chen Xiaoting , 225 kg (100–125) in 2nd place. At the 2009 World Cup in Goyang / South Korea , neither she nor Li Ping was used, but Chen Xiaoting.
