Qu Qiubai
Qu Qiubai ( Chinese 瞿秋白 , Pinyin Qū Qiūbái , Jyutping Keoi 4 Cau 1 baak 6 ; born January 29, 1899 in Changzhou Province Jiangsu ; † June 18, 1935 in Changting Province Fujian ) was a Chinese politician in the early days of the Communist Party of China .
biography
After the end of the First United Front in 1927, he succeeded Chen Duxius as general secretary of the CCP, but due to spectacular failures (including the Canton uprising in December 1927), he was replaced by Xiang Zhongfa after a year . He also gained recognition as a writer and journalist and was friends with Lu Xun . From 1934 he took part in education campaigns in the Jiangxi Soviet at the invitation of Mao Zedong . Seriously ill with tuberculosis, he was left at the beginning of the Long March and arrested and shot by the Guomindang in 1935 . In 1980 he was rehabilitated by the Central Committee, especially considered a “deviator” during the Cultural Revolution .

The writer Li Er took up the fate of Qus in 2002 in his novel Coloratura (German coloratura , 2009).
