The Quaade-Gambit or Quade-Gambit is an opening in the game of chess that emerges from the King's Gambit (or from the Viennese game ). The basic position of this gambit , which has been known since the 19th century, arises after the moves
1. e2-e4 e7-e5
2. f2-f4 e5xf4
3. Ng1-f3 g7-g5
4. Nb1-c3
Surname
The gambit is named after the captain L. Quaade from Oringe , who was out of service and who suggested the move 4. Nb1 – c3 in November 1882 in the Deutsche Schachzeitung . After this had been analyzed by the lawyer Carl Friedrich Schmid from Dresden, the German chess newspaper described the opening in June 1884 as a Gambit attack Quaade-Schmid . A captain Louis Magnus Johan Christian Carl Quaade (* 1825 in Helsinki, † 1906 in Oringe) can be found in genealogies, who could possibly be the inventor of the opening. The name Quade-Gambit probably goes back to the book L'art de faire mat by Renaud and Kahn, published in 1947 , which incorrectly spelled the name with just an "a" in the English and French editions.
variants
One idea of the opening is to lure Black into a trap , since after 4.… g5 – g4 5. Nf3 – e5 Qd8 – h4 + 6. g2 – g3 f4xg3 7. Qd1xg4 through 7.… g3 – g2 + 8. Qg4xh4 gxh1D can win the rook on h1, but White gets a decisive attack after 9. Qh4 – h5 Ng8 – h6 10. d2 – d4 , whereby the cover of e4 by Nc3 is also relevant.
The correct exchange in this variant is therefore 7.… Qh4xg4 8. Ne5xg4 d7 – d5! 9. Bf1-h3
( Karsten Müller points to 9. Ng4 – e3 d5 – d4 10. Ne3 – d5 Ke8 – d8 11. Ng3 – e2.)
d5xe4 10. Ng4 – f6 + Ke8 – d8 11. Bh3xc8 Kd8xc8 12. Nf6xe4 g3xh2 13. Rh1xh2 and equalization (analysis by EA Schmidt).
The gambit 4.… g5 – g4 5. d2 – d4 g4xf3 6. Qd1xf3 was ascribed to Sørensen in the manual of the chess game . 4.… g5 – g4 5. Bf1 – c4 g4xf3 6. Qd1xf3 leads to the McDonnell gambit.
The most diverse fourth black move is 4.… Nc6 . 4.… d7 – d6 leads to the Fischer defense .
4.… Bf8 – g7 leads after 5. Bf1 – c4 d7 – d6 to the Philidor variant or Hanstein variant of the King's Gambit .
4.… Bf8 – g7 5. Bf1 – c4 g5 – g4 enforces the McDonnell gambit. 6. 0–0 g4xf3 7. Qd1xf3 leads to the Hamppe-Muzio gambit through another Nb8 – c6 . (There would be g4xf3 7. Qd1xf3 Bf8 – g7 the moves that have happened.)
4.… Bf8 – g7 5. d2 – d4 g5 – g4 leads to the caveman attack of the Rosentreter gambit (6. Bc1xf4 g4xf3 7. Qd1xf3).
4.… Bf8 – g7 5. g2 – g3 is modern to bring about long castling after g5 – g4 6. Nf3 – h4 f4 – f3 7. d2 – d4 with Be3 and Qd2 .
4.… Nb8 – c6 5. d2 – d4 is the dubious Pierce gambit . Simon Williams therefore considers 5. g2 – g3 to be necessary.
4.… Nb8 – c6 5. h2 – h4 g5 – g4 6. Nf3 – g5 is the Hamppe-Allgaier gambit .
4.… Nb8 – c6 5. Bf1 – c4 g5 – g4 6. 0–0 is the Hamppe-Muzio gambit .
