Fedor Rosentreter

Fedor Rosentreter (born June 13, 1842 in Tilsit ; † March 16, 1919 in Blankenburg (Harz) ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Rosentreter studied law in Berlin, Heidelberg , Bonn and Berlin. In Heidelberg he was a member of the Corps Vandalia . In 1863 he became an auscultator , but in the same year he started his career as an officer. He then came as a flag junior in the 2nd Uhlan Regiment of the Prussian Army in Ratibor . In 1864 he became Second Lieutenant , 1870/71 Ordonnanzoffizier of the Brigade von Colomb , Cavalry Division Graf Stollberg, 1879 Rittmeister in the 2nd Uhlan Regiment, 1884 Adjutant of the 10th Division and at the General Command of the V Army Corps in Posen , 1886 Major in 2nd Pomeranian Uhlan Regiment No. 9 in Demmin , 1891 Lieutenant Colonel in the 6th Dragoons Regiment in Mainz and in 1896 commander of the 36th Cavalry Brigade in Danzig . In 1898 he was appointed major general.

Rosentreter was considered an opening theorist in chess. The system 4. d2-d4 in the King's Jumper Gambit bears his name.

Fedor Rosentreter died on March 16, 1919 in Blankenburg am Harz.
