Quebo is a small town in southwest Guinea-Bissau with 5245 inhabitants (as of 2009). It is the seat of the sector of the same name with an area of 960 km² and 15,372 inhabitants (as of 2007), mainly Balanta with significant minorities of Fulbe and Mandinka .
Until the end of Portuguese colonial rule in 1974, the place had the colonial place name Aldeia Formosa.
Economy and Infrastructure
Agriculture, predominantly subsistence farming , determines the economy in the Quebo sector. Mention should be made of mangoes , naturally irrigated rice and oil palms .
The sector is only very poorly served by roads, which are also in very poor condition.

The sector capital Quebo is divided into six, with subdivisions into eight districts ( Bairros ).
In addition to the capital, the entire sector includes 52 other localities, often rural villages ( Tabancas ). The most important locations in the sector include:

- Contabane (1087 inhabitants)
- Cumbijã (507 inhabitants)
