The Röblinsee is a natural lake in the natural area of the Neustrelitz Kleinseenland and in the Uckermärkische Seen nature park in the Brandenburg district of Oberhavel . The Röblinsee is part of the federal waterway "Obere Havel".

Geographical location and hydrography

The lake has a west-east extension of around two kilometers and a width of up to 500 meters. The lake level is on average 52.6  m above sea level. NHN . Together with the Baalen and Schwedt lakes , the Röblinsee frames the small town of Fürstenberg / Havel in Brandenburg . history

The lake was first mentioned in a document as early as 1299 (as "stagnum Röbelin"); it was part of the initial equipment of the Himmelpfort monastery . The monastery received from the Brandenburg margrave Albrecht III. the sole right of use. The lake probably got its name from a place on the lake called Röblin, which is derived from a Slavic personal name Robola. The border between the then Mecklenburg town of Fürstenberg and the Brandenburg municipality of Ravensbrück ran along the northern shore of the lake until 1950 .

Tourism and waterway

The Röblinsee is part of the 97 kilometer-long federal waterway Obere Havel-Wasserstraße (OHW) of waterway class I; The Eberswalde Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible .

The Röblinsee is navigable for motor sports boats, but only in the shipping channel marked with tons . The "Marina am Röblinsee" is located on the south bank, from where houseboats and motor yachts are chartered out.
