Roman Qanat (Pölich)
The Roman Qanat in Pölich / Mosel in the Trier-Saarburg district is a tunnel aqueduct ( Qanat ) of Roman origin. The facility is partially accessible.
In 1987/88, 50 m of the 400 m long water pipe carved into the slate rock was exposed. It served the water supply of a Roman villa complex and is on average 1.20 m high and 0.50 m wide. The pipeline has access shafts every 10 m (partly visible) and a so-called mother shaft at the starting point of the pipeline.
