Rönnau re-enters the piping at the Teutendorfer settlement near Travemünde

The Rönnau is a small river in the Lübeck basin .

The Rönnau is a brook and rises in the landscape protection area Travemünder Winkel near Ovendorf . Its catchment area is north and south of federal highway 75 and east of the Kücknitzer Scheide as a watershed . In 2008, around 350 m of the brook gorge was protected as a section 25 area according to section 25 of the then Schleswig-Holstein State Nature Conservation Act.

The windmill known as Rönnauer Mühle was only built in 1850 by the miller of the existing water mill there . The watermill has been documented since at least 1547 and was operated next to the windmill until the 1920s. The watermill building was converted into a wood turner's workshop in 1947 and demolished in 1970. The former mill pond has silted up. The associated fish pond was filled with rubble from the demolition of the water mill.

The final course of the Rönnau is piped as a receiving water at about 630 m ; In this area, due to a water abolition procedure, it is only legally valid as a sewer system . It crosses under the Lübeck – Lübeck-Travemünde Strand railway line south of the Teutendorfer settlement , roughly north of the former location of the St. Jürgen infirmary . It then passes under the former production hall of the HATRA machine factory and, like the Moorbek in the area of the Travemünde fishing port, flows into the infirmary of the Trave . The plan is a plan approval process to perform to take back the waters cancellation procedures at Rönnau and Moorbek and thus the entire run again as rivers by state water law to dedicate and protect better.
