The Rötelbach rises in a depression between the Ulm districts of Eggingen and Einsingen . It flows through the district of Einsingen and, after crossing under the B 311, forms the south-western edge of the Ulm-Donautal industrial area. Then it turns left (northeast), flows through the industrial area and flows into the Danube approx. 200 m above the Iller from the left .
