Rudiger Weigang

Rüdiger Weigang (born June 25, 1942 in Saarbrücken ) is a German actor .

life and career

Weigang attended a grammar school in Saarbrücken up to Obersekunda . At the Wiesbaden Conservatory he received acting lessons from Axel Ivers . He began his theater career in 1964 at the Zimmertheater Tübingen , where he worked until 1968.

In 1970 he moved to the National Theater in Mannheim and in 1974 to the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe , of which he was a member until 1978. He then made guest appearances at the festivals in Herrenhausen (1978), Schwäbisch Hall (1978), Bad Hersfeld (1982) and Ettlingen (from 1979).

Weigang took on various roles in classics on these stages, including Riccaut de la Marlinière in Minna von Barnhelm , Hortensio in The Taming of the Shrew , Fool in What You Want , Marquis von Torcy in The Glass of Water , Flaut and Thisbe in A Midsummer Night's Dream , Basilio in Der great day or Figaro's wedding , Schleewein in Much Ado About Nothing , Skinny Cousin in Jedermann and Questenberg's councilor in Wallenstein .

He achieved his greatest fame through the role of Eduard ("Edu") Simon in the eleven-part family chronicle Heimat von Edgar Reitz 1984. He gained further fame through his appearances in the series Heinz Becker Family (1991-2003) and the accompanying film Tach, Mr. Doctor! - The Heinz Becker film .
