Location of Rüxleben in Thuringia

Rüxleben is a district of Kleinfurra in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .

location

Rüxleben is located with the settlement Darre west of Kleinfurra on the south passing road 1034 in the docked Wipperniederung at the foot of the Hainleite east of Wolkramshausen .

history

The village was first mentioned on March 20, 1143. The place was and is predominantly agricultural. In Rüxleben there was a manor , originally owned by the Thuringian noble family von Rüxleben , since 1864 the Andreae family. The manor was expropriated without compensation under Soviet occupation, and the owner and his son were arrested in September 1945. After the land was divided up in 1952, the farmers also had to take the path of collectivization and find new forms of agriculture after reunification . Today they even have a well-subsidized biogas plant .

The Sondershausen - Nordhausen rail link opened the way for the industrial labor market.

The church of St. Maria virginis has an original defensive tower with a half-timbered tower. The congregation has preserved or restored its church well. Next to the church there is a grave monument of the von Rüxleben family, their bones in an inaccessible vault below the church.

The Wipper Bridge in Rüxleben was demolished in 2011/12 and rebuilt.
