RA Salvatore

Robert Anthony Salvatore (born January 20, 1959 in Leominster , Massachusetts ) is an American writer who is best known as the author of numerous fantasy book series.

Life

Salvatore first studied computer science , but switched to journalism after being influenced by JRR Tolkien's book The Lord of the Rings . Shortly thereafter, he graduated in English and Communication . He began his writing career in 1982 with Echoes of the Fourth Magic .

Salvatore usually publishes his books in series of three to five volumes. Among other things, he wrote novels that are set in the fictional world of the Forgotten Realms and in the Star Wars universe . He also wrote the plot of the action adventure game Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone , which was published in early 2005, and developed the background scenario for the role-playing game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning .

Salvatore is married and has three children with his wife Diane.

Awards

In 2011 he won the German Fantastic Award for the best audio book / radio play of the year with Das Vermächtnis .
