Governorate ( regions ):

The Route 30 is a highway in Jordan . The road is an east-west connection through the north and in the center of the country, coming from the Jordan Valley , past Amman to the border with Saudi Arabia . The road is 195 km long.

Street description

The road begins at a junction with Route 65 in the central Jordan Valley, around 250 meters below sea level. It rises in the Jordanian mountains to about 1,100 meters in the direction of as-Salt , where it has 2 × 2 lanes. The route through Balqa Governorate has a few intersections, but it is not a full highway. In Suwaylih, northeast of Amman, it crosses Route 35 and passes Amman in the north to Zarqa , where it crosses Route 25 . East of Zarqa there is a clover leaf with route 15 . After Zarqa the road is narrowed with only 1 × 2 lanes and it leads about 60 kilometers through the Arabian desert. The desert is rocky and very flat.

Route 40 ends eight kilometers before al-Azraq , coming from Amman via Qusair 'Amra , and joins Route 30. At the Azraq Nature Reserve, Route 30 turns south into 5 and follows it (double numbering) for 22 kilometers before it turns east again and after 30 kilometers reaches the border with Saudi Arabia . On the Saudi side, the road becomes Route 65 towards central Saudi Arabia.

meaning

Route 30 is partly a main road, especially in the eastern part in the desert in connection with the Saudi route 65, it serves as the main road from Amman to Riyadh . In connection with Route 40 as a circular route, it is also used for tourists visiting the desert castles of Qasr Kharana , Qusair Amra and Qasr al-Azraq as well as the Azraq nature reserve. The part west of Amman serves to connect the capital to the vegetable and fruit growing areas in the fertile Jordan Valley.
