The RSV Heiligenbeil was a German sports club from the East Prussian town of Heiligenbeil (today Mamonowo ). The football department played for two years in the then first-class Gauliga East Prussia .

History and sporting development

The RSV Heiligenbeil was founded on February 23, 1920. He chose red and white as the club colors. He played his home games in the (1941) 3,000-seat municipal stadium on Rosenberger Chaussee, which the club members had converted from an old gymnasium into a sports field with a soccer field during the founding phase. The sports field was converted into a modern facility in 1929.

After the club was founded, the RSV Heiligenbeil played in the league system of the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association (BRWV). 1921/22 a game operation in the autumn round in the district league VI East Prussia West is handed down, one of then several regional first division within the BRWV. In 1924/25 the club played in the 2nd class Königsberg - sub-district Zinten (third division), for the season 1926/27 the club was assigned to the 2nd class Königsberg . By winning the 2nd class in 1929/30 and the subsequent successful participation in the qualifying games, Heiligenbeil rose to the second-rate Königsberg district league in the 1931/32 season . With the third place in the table in the Königsberg district league in 1933, the RSV Heiligenbeil was classified in the second-rate district class I Königsberg within the East Prussia sports district instead of the football associations as part of the establishment of the Sportgaue .

Due to the restructuring of the Gauliga East Prussia in the 1935/36 season , the permanent Gauliga was dissolved and the two best clubs in each of the four second-rate district classes qualified for a round-robin tournament, Heiligenbeil now had the opportunity as a member of the Königsberg district class to qualify for the Gaume Championships. The club was able to reach fifth place in the table in 1935/36 , but was last in the 1936/37 season with only one win and one draw and had to relegate to the third division. The club stayed there until the 1941/42 season when it merged with SV Blau-Weiß Heiligenbeil to form SG RSV / Blau-Weiß Heiligenbeil and played in the second-class 1st class East Prussia . In January 1942, however, the club withdrew from gaming. The merger was resolved again and the RSV Heiligenbeil appeared again in the second division in 1943/44 .

In its prime, the RSVH had around 160 active and around 100 passive members. In addition to football, the club had departments for athletics, women's work, handball, fistball, swimming, table tennis, chess, bowling and small-bore shooting.

After the Second World War , the formerly German holy ax was annexed by the Soviet Union . The RSV Heiligenbeil , like all other German clubs and facilities, forcing dissolved.
