The RSV Rehburg (officially: Rehburger Sportverein eV ) is a sports club from Rehburg-Loccum in the district of Nienburg / Weser . The first soccer team took part in the DFB Cup once.
history
The club was founded on February 24, 1946 when the cycling and sports club Gödicke Rehburg founded a football department. This split off in 1950 as the Rehburg sports club . In addition to soccer, the RSV also offers tennis . For decades, the footballers only played at the district level before the most successful era in the club's history began in the 1970s.
In 1975 he was promoted to the Hanover district league . A year later, Rehburg won the Hanover District Cup and were only stopped in the Lower Saxony Cup in the semi-finals by VfV Hildesheim . After a 3: 3 after extra time , the Hildesheimers prevailed 5: 4 on penalties . In 1977 Rehburg qualified for the DFB Cup, where the team met Hertha BSC from Berlin in the first round and lost 6-1 in front of 6,500 spectators. In 1978 the Rehburg runners-up in the district league behind Friesen Hänigsen and qualified a year later for the newly created district league in Hanover .
From this, the RSV was relegated in 1982, before it went down to the district class two years later. From 1986 to 1991 and from 1995 to 2000 the team played again in the district league. In 2006 it went up again in the district league. The team was able to answer the relegations from the district league in 2009 and 2013 with direct promotion. The first men of the club has been playing in the Nienburg district league since 2015.
Since March 2019 the RSV also has an American football team, the "Rehburg Raptors".
Youth work
The RSV Rehburg is in cooperation with the neighboring towns (TSV Loccum eV, TV Eiche Winzlar eV, VfL Münchehagen eV) in youth football. Since 2014, all youth players have been playing under the common roof of the youth play community (JSG) Rehburg-Loccum.
