The RWJBarnabas Health Arena is a multi-purpose hall in the US city of Toms River in Ocean County , State of New Jersey . It is mainly used for the basketball games of the Toms River North Mariners’s , the high school team at Toms River High School North . But school events such as graduation ceremonies also take place there. The hall is also used to host concerts .
history
Opened June 19, 2003, the multi-purpose hall is located on the property of Toms River High School North. It was opened under the name Ritacco Center , after Michael Ritacco, a former superintendent from Toms River. After a corruption scandal involving Ritacco in which he was arrested by the FBI , the 3,500-seat arena was renamed the Pine Belt Arena in 2011. The local automobile dealers Pine Belt Auto Group was title sponsor for 500,000 US dollars over five years.
Since January 2018, the arena has been named RWJBarnabas Health , a group of services in independent health care .
In addition to the games of the high school basketball team and school events, the hall is also booked for concerts. So were already among other things, Kelly Clarkson , Vanessa Carlton , The Beach Boys , The Moody Blues , Kenny Rogers , Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at the Pine Belt Arena. In November 2014 Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens also performed as part of their world tour .
In 2006 a WWE event was also held in the sports hall.
