Sending out of RWM

RWM is the call sign of three strong Russian time signal transmitters of the VNIIFTRI near Moscow . They transmit on several shortwave frequencies (4.996 MHz, 9.996 MHz and 14.996 MHz).

Because of their high radiation power, they can be received in almost all of Eurasia and beyond. However, they do not transmit continuously (such as WWV in the USA and Hawaii), but alternately between the frequencies. The broadcast times are changed a little from time to time. Half-day service breaks are switched on several times a month.

The signals are short tenths of a second and longer seconds with special minute identification . A coincidence signal is used to mark the hour .
