MSF is the call sign of the British time signal transmitter operating on the 60 kHz ( long wave ) frequency .
The signal from MSF is broadcast by the transmitter in Anthorn , Cumbria (England) and, like the signal from DCF77, can be used to control radio clocks . From its first use in 1950 until April 1, 2007, the callsign was broadcast by the Rugby station , near the place of the same name ( Rugby ).
At the same location as MSF there is also a LORAN-C transmitter and the GBZ submarine transmitter .
